Friction free is all about making things as easy as possible to do.
We’re surrounded with it every day:
* our phones make it easy to be notified and react to things, to keep us using it
* our smart Tv’s are so smart that they put shows in front of us, to keep us using it
* the pre-packaged foods that are all nicely wrapped for easier consumption, to keep us using it
But how many of those are actually useful for us in our lives?
Yes, sometimes, when our brains can’t take any more, it’s ok to do
But my challenge to you is:
How can you make the things that you need to do, to have a better life, easier to do?
I spend a lot of time on this topic for myself and our clients.
Here’s an example: this message that you’re reading.
It took me a little bit of time to setup, but I write this email in my email system, press send, and it auto:
* sends you the message (if you’re on my daily mailing list)
* posts it on my website – jamiemckean.com ( http://jamiemckean.com/ )
* posts it on my socials (with AI generated summaries specific for each platform)
And all I had to do was sit down, write an email, and press send.
In the past, when I’ve even tried to keep to a weekly schedule of writing, it became too hard because of all the little things I had to do on the back end – even if it was to proof read what my team had put together.
Anything that adds to a job, adds a little extra mental load, and we don’t need that in our lives.
So what do you do today , that you think you should (maybe MUST?) have less friction?
Happy to brainstorm with you to figure out how
But for now, I’m going to get on with my day
Try and be as friction free as possible your side
