How To Learn From My Handyman Mistakes (for your Business!)

In today’s video, I share with you why you can use my handyman skills as a great lesson in your business – try not to laugh too much please!!

Hi this is Jamie

And in this week’s video I’m going to share with you why me breaking a chisel and my handyman skills can be used in your business and what to learn from my mistakes!

Let’s get into it.

It’s funny I just thought to press record.

I’ve just come back from trying to help my wife Lucy do some handyman work outside. Now if you know me well I don’t do much handyman work but we’ve got fence outside – keeping the kids and keeping them safe.

There’s a moral here by the way with the story which is why I wanted to press record and share it with you.

But having the right tools for the job, okay. Trying to get, I’m looking at that way because I’m looking out there at the fence.

And Lucy said, “Have you got the drill?”

“No, brother in-law took it to the beach, still at the beach house.”

So trying to get a screw into the wall to put in a bracket, to put in a lock to keep the kids safe.

Were they go in? No. Without me politely swearing, no it didn’t go in. The chisel that I tried to use to off another lock broken the chisel.

It’s alright.

You know trying to do things in different ways doesn’t matter how big the hammer was. Still it wasn’t working.

So the moral of the story is, in your business make sure you’ve got the right tools for the job.

Getting the Right Tools for the Job

I’m going to wait for the drill to be brought back later and it’ll take me 2 minutes to do the job.

But in your business if you are trying to use social media and your customers are non-social media or you’re trying to do what the clever things in other spaces because it’s anew shiny object but the people who you’re trying to attract on in that space – don’t waste your time.

Wait. Learn more about your customer. Find that where they spend their time and spend the effort. Get and good at that.

That’s what you need to do for business.

And if this drill doesn’t fix it for me I’m just going to pay someone to do it for me.

So have a wonderful day and I’ll be back and talk to you soon.

See ya!

Jamie
